Share Big Ridge with your friends
Big Ridge Mountain Club now has a member referral program. If you know people who would enjoy Big Ridge as much as you do, I encourage you to invite them to come visit.
How does it work?
To extend an invitation, click on the gift icon in the upper right hand corner of your account.
You’ll then be able to add their name, email address, and a personalized note. This will prompt our little app to send them an email invitation, letting them know you’ve invited them to access our calendar and reserve a date to come for a complimentary visit. You’ll get an email when they make their reservation, and if they decide to join after visiting, we’ll credit you with one month of membership.
If they decide to join, when do their membership fees begin?
Their membership fees won’t start until the date of their first visit as an official Big Ridge member. If you invite them now, perhaps they will make a reservation for three months from now, decide to join after that visit, schedule their first official member visit three months after that, and they won’t be charged anything until then. I feel like this is the softest sell imaginable, but this is how we’ve been doing it, and it’s brought us a bunch of members who fully-appreciate what they are buying into before they join—which is my preference.
Are there any limitations?
Yes! Your referred friends will have three months to make a reservation, and if they don’t by then, their invitation will expire. Additionally, our members can only have three invitations outstanding at any time. I didn’t want a zillion “open” invitations floating around forever and that seemed like a good way to handle it.
Why and why now?
A couple weeks ago, we opened up the Barn Loft for reservations beginning in June. That will essentially double our capacity. As such, we’re ready to begin some real marketing! I’d like most of our membership to come from people you know, your friends of friends, etc—hence this program—so thank you for help in expanding our little community!
